NATURAL SELECTION

The following extract is a result of one of my recent scatty conversations. As usual, I said something which took me aback so much that I began thinking how it transpired that I actually uttered that stinky little phrase. That time I sang Romanticism praises naming its numerous laudable traits, such as the respect for the Supernatural, folklore, unpunished heathendom and, last not least, Nature's capacity to admonish humans by mere erasing them, simply for the crime of moral cowardice. At that point, I found myself feeling inklings of overdue mental instability being disclosed. How come I think (right, present tense) it's such a great idea for the elements to murder them who didn't abide by what they had vowed? Benighted, sorry. But it's always better than waiting for the divine justice (apart from the Greek deities, as they reacted instantly). You must have noticed God's justice is always delayed, which is pretty much the same as being denied. Something stinks here though. Violence is the last outpost of moral cowardice, so maybe Mother Nature has her reasons for not soiling her fruitful hands with human blood. Too bad. For all its practical uses, motherly love can spoil all the fun.
